Early Morning Sky

If you look real close, there is a straight white line about the middle of the picture. We live about an hour and a bit west of Selfridge Air National Guard base. Our house is in the flight path. Several times through out the day we will hear jets or helicopters.

I also received a great Tribe pressie from Cece. After I've had my morning cup of tea to wake me up, I'll post all about.

We're a bit northwest of Selfridge and we get the contrails decorating the sky too. Where I grew up, in the SW corner of St. Clair Co., the planes turned around almost over our farm. There were two accidents out that way. In one, two jets collided over Berville and we were picking pieces of metal & plastic out of the fields for quite a while afterwards. The other, when I was in high school, happened when a jet's engine failed. The pilot rode it down far enough before bailing out to aim it away from the town and school (Armada in NW Macomb Co.) but it crashed in a field across from my friend's house. I still get a little skittish when I hear a plane, helicopter or jet go by close to the ground.

I'm in a flight path too.I get all the float planes going overhead to the lake just southwest of me and all the commuter planes going to the east to the airport. The kids go nuts, dropping everything to point out yet another plane.

Blue Angels are flying in TC this weekend again - their airshow flight path takes them within feet over the top of my old 100 yr old Victorian house, and all the glass in the windows and cabinets would shake.
I didn't know they were still flying out of Selfridge.
Have a safe and happy 4th

If there's a helicopter in our skies we all think something is terribly wrong - like a rescue is needed!! We have the passenger planes'scenic flight path down the river and over the city sometimes and a 3am cargo plane every day!!!
